Lakota East coach steps down after 36 years

Lakota East defensive coordinator Jim Semones has decided it’s time to turn the page.

After a coaching career that spanned some 36 years, Semones has decided he’s ready to make a change. 

“I’ve been either playing or coaching football since I was 9 years old (50 years),” said Semones. “I date back to the days of leather helmets.  That’s a long time and I’m ready to do some other things.” 

Semone’s coaching career began at Lakota Junior School (now the Early Childhood Center) in 1969 following his graduation from Ohio University with an Education Degree in Social Studies...
