Sloneker Signs With Miami
|
Badin senior
Leila Sloneker has signed to continue her swimming career at
Miami University.
Sloneker
competes in the sprint freestyle and butterfly events and
was a state finalist all four years of high school.
As a senior,
Sloneker was district champion in the 50 and 100 freestyle
and was third at state in both sprint freestyle events.
“Leila is one
of the most talented sprinters coming out of Southwestern
Ohio,” Miami coach Dave Jennings said in a statement. “As
the valedictorian of her class, Leila will be a tremendous
asset to Miami both athletically and academically.”
Sloneker was
named to the Cincinnati Enquirer first team and team MVP
during her prep career.
“Leila has the
potential to be a major contributor in the sprint events at
the (Mid-American Conference) level,” Jennings said. “She is
joining an already strong sprint group that is only
graduating one sprinter, and she has been prepared to really
improve in college.”
