Frankey To
Play Football At Mount St. Joseph
By Mike Dyer
Badin
linebacker Matt Frankey has committed to play football at Mount
St. Joseph.
Frankey
chose MSJ over Wittenberg and Thomas More, according to Badin
coach David Wirth.
Frankey was
a recipient of this year’s That’s My Boy award, was honorable
mention all-state and first-team all-district in 2005 and ’06.
He was also first-team all-Greater Catholic League the past two
seasons.
Frankey
plans to study nursing at MSJ. He joins former Badin player
Justin Geyer, who set a state record with four blocked punts
against McNicholas in 2005.
“I am
excited that Matt gets the opportunity to play for a much-loved
and much-respected coach (Rod) Huber and the up-and-coming MSJ
football program,” Wirth said.
Also, other
Badin football commitments include defensive back Josh Alcorn
(Thomas More) and offensive lineman Charlie Hartkemeyer (Centre
College, Ky.), according to Wirth.
