Milford Wins First FAVC Girls'
Golf Title
By Mike Dyer
Milford girls’ golf coach Sandy
Garrison said it was “pretty cool” that the Eagles took claim
to their first-ever Fort Ancient Valley Conference title
Tuesday.
Milford won the FAVC girls’ golf
league tournament at Fairfield with a score of 381.
It marked the first league title
for the school’s girls’ golf program and the first varsity
FAVC title for the school. It is also the first in the FAVC
Buckeye Division.
“I’m so proud of our kids and
coaches,” Milford athletic director Mark Trout said. “This is
something definitely to be excited about.”
Milford just added a junior
varsity squad last season and Trout said Garrison, who was
named FAVC coach of the year, has done a good job with the
program sustaining interest.
“Coach Garrison has done an
excellent job,” Trout said.
Milford senior Audra Wade led
Milford with a 90 on Tuesday and was third overall.
“She has been a good leader,”
Garrison said.
Jennifer Trame (95), Sydney
Anderson (97) and Kelsee Muldoon (99) also helped the Eagles
and were named first-team all-league.
Garrison said the team set goals
of being in the top three in the league but said about a week
ago, they knew they had a realistic opportunity.
“For me, I knew we could
compete,” Garrison said.
Milford plays Glen Este Wednesday
and has several matches this week and next before the
sectional tournament.
