Lakota West senior wide
receiver Bakari Bussey said yesterday he has scholarship
offers from Indiana,
Akron,
Toledo, Ohio,
Miami (Ohio), Western Michigan and Eastern Michigan.
Bussey, considered on of the area’s top receivers this
year, said he will wait to decide on a college for now but
said it could be around Week 3.
Bussey said he is looking
forward to his senior year. That begins Aug. 25 when
Lakota West plays Elder at Nippert Stadium.
Bussey, who is 6 feet 2
inches and 200 pounds, is the son of former Bengals player
Barney Bussey. Barney coaches the secondary at the school.
Bakari said he has been at several camps over the summer
and hopes that will help during the fall.
Bakari caught 19 receptions
for 336 yards and four touchdowns in nine games last
season.
“My speed has improved and my
awareness along with my catching abilities,” he said.
Lakota West finished third in
the Greater Miami Conference last season with an 8-3
overall record and 5-2 in the league.
“It’s going to be a
high-tempo and explosive offense,” Bussey said. “…We are
going to be more aggressive and use the weapons we have.”
