Oak Hills Returns Good Mix Of Players
The Oak Hills girls’ basketball
team returns a good mix of veteran and young players to the
floor this season.
Jessica Pachko (Marquette) and
Amanda Keehan (West Virginia) and guard Lauren Streicher will
certainly be among the leaders.
“I think we have a team that has a
lot of room to improve and with (senior guard) Hannah Hedrick
missing the whole month of November with a stress fracture, our
younger kids have an opportunity to get some significant playing
time,” Oak Hills coach Andy Marx said.
Oak Hills will look to defend well
and take care of the ball, Marx said. He added he likes how well
the team competes early in the year.
“We lost a lot with Amanda Harnist
and Sam Corman graduating, but sophomore Amanda Baute should
pick up the slack defensively and on the boards,” Marx said.
Oak Hills opens the season with a
visit to McAuley at 5 p.m. Nov. 17
Oak Hills finished 22-3 and 13-1 in
the Greater Miami Conference after it lost to Lakota West in a
Division I regional semifinal last season.
