Holmes' Dynamic Duo

Holmes girls’ basketball coach Celeste Hill Brockett believes junior center Brittany Webb is a Division I college player.

Holmes already has one Division I college signee this season in senior forward Christina Weaver (North Carolina-Greensboro). Weaver scored a team-high 14 points and had 13 rebounds to help lead Holmes past host Holy Cross 47-45 Friday night.

Despite being just a junior, Webb is already receiving attention from college coaches.

“She gets a lot of letters and information from Division I schools,” Hill Brockett said. “The University of Dayton and Miami (University) - a lot of schools in the Tri-state.”

Webb, who is 6 feet 2, has been a steady presence in the post for the Bulldogs. She had 11 points, nine rebounds, three steals and three blocks Friday night.

“She can handle the ball well as a big girl,” Hill Brockett said. “She has a nice touch (shooting the ball).”
