Conner Holds Off Lady Rebels

Cougars prevail in key district battle

Conner beat Boone County 67-62 last night in a district battle between two of the top three girls’ basketball teams in Northern Kentucky.

Boone County (16-6) entered the game ranked No. 2 by area coaches while the Cougars (18-2) were ranked third.  In the Hacks Fab 5 poll Conner is ranked first and the Lady Rebels second.

The Cougars were led by a trio of players.  Stephanie Hodges scored a team-high 17 points and collected 12 rebounds.  Allison Long scored 16 points while Jordan Kremer added 14 points, including 10 in the fourth quarter.

 

Conner secured the top seed in the 33rd District tournament with the win and is 3-0 in district play.  Boone County drops to 1-1.

 

Katie Behrens scored a game-high 21 points to lead Boone County.  Jacy Bradley added 17 points.
