NKY Baseball Highlights

 

Covington Catholic – 7 / Beechwood - 3

 

Covington Catholic scored seven runs in the sixth inning and went on to defeat Beechwood 7-3 in a 35th District baseball game.

 

The Colonels, trailing 3-0, rallied by sending 11 batters to plate in the sixth inning.  Luke Maile was 3-for-4 with a double and two RBI.

 

Boone County – 11 / Campbell County - 7

 

Junior Mark Reed clubbed two home runs to lead Boone County to an 11-7 win over Campbell County.  Cory Farris went 2-for-3 at the plate and added his eighth home run of the season and had two RBI.

 

Newport 7 / Holmes 5

 

Newport’s Sam Schwalbach went 2-for-3 at the plate with a double and two RBI to lead Newport past Holmes.  Pat Klass picked up his third win of the season for the Wildcats.

 

Holy Cross 13 / Ludlow – 2

 

Senior Jeremy Cross went 2-for-3 with a solo home run and grand slam to lead the Indians to a route over the Panthers.
